For some people Ventoy solves a problem that doesn’t even exist and for the majority of remaining people Ventoy doesn’t exist as it, ofcourse if a software exists but no one is there to see it, does it really exist? (If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?) .
The stupid first line aside, Ventoy is a tool that’s very important for me and might be off interest for quite a few other people. Ventoy allows you to create a bootable USB device with more than 1 ISO at a same time, which if you know is impossible with traditional methods. Since I am in a distro-hopping phase right now (Bazzite -> Fedora -> Mint and now at Pop OS!), it is a life changer for me. I keep all ISO off my distros in a single pendrive and when I want to switch, just plug it in and move onto the next ISO. Since ISO’s are quite usually in the range of 3-4 GB, a single 64 GB pendrive can hold over 10 different ISO’s at the same time. Ofcourse, my usecase is just that, my usecase. I have known other people to have needed multiple ISO’s at reach and creating a bootable pendrive for each is just a money/space/time issue and saving all of which is extremely important.
That’s actually just it, nothing more. It was a tool I had used quite extensively in the past few days and was interesting to write about. See ya in the nextblog
